Profil of the Organisation

Oslo University Hospital carry out advanced patient treatment, research, give advice and provide education. Oslo University Hospital is responsible for approximately 50 percent of all medical and healthcare research conducted at Norwegian hospitals and is a significant role player within the education of a large variety of health care personnel. This is the result of the hospital’s general research strategy and its extensive international and national network cooperation.
The Department of Forensic Sciences has important tasks in the fields of forensic genetics, forensic pathology, clinical forensic medicine and forensic toxicology. In Euronet the Section of Drug Abuse Research is represented. The section focuses on health consequences of drug and alcohol use through various projects. The department has a special focus on substance abuse and road accidents, alcohol and somatic illness, injuries and overdoses. We work with National health authority’s, hospitals, police, road traffic authority’s and other organizations. The department also has international projects on substance abuse, road traffic accidents and other health outcomes in Europe and low- and middle-income countries.
