euro net - Guidelines

As the first practice-based project conducted by euro net, the European Network for Practical Approaches in Addiction Prevention, the euro peers project was a success. Building on the excellent experience had with the project, a follow-up project was proposed which was approved in 1998 by the European Commission. The purpose of this euro net project was to develop the guidelines for two future practical projects aimed at implementing the peer education approach for two separate groups that had largely been ignored until then. These were concerned with:

• Addiction prevention in out-of-school youth work, and
• Addiction prevention in parental work

The projects were implemented under the names euro youth and euro parents between 2001 and 2003.

Walter Kern-Scheffeldt from the Pestalozianum Zurich, Switzerland, and Gerald Koller from the 'Vital' Office Steyr, Austria, acted as consultants.

euro net - Guidelines

As the first practice-based project conducted by euro net, the European Network for Practical Approaches in Addiction Prevention, the euro peers project was a success. Building on the excellent experience had with the project, a follow-up project was proposed which was approved in 1998 by the European Commission. The purpose of this euro net project was to develop the guidelines for two future practical projects aimed at implementing the peer education approach for two separate groups that had largely been ignored until then. The projects were implemented under the names euro youth and euro parents between 2001 and 2003.

The euro net project (Guidelines Development) was funded by the European Commission. The Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe was in charge of the overall management in conjunction with the Dutch partner organisation TACTUS. The project was scientifically evaluated by the Institute for Addiction Prevention in Zurich.

Walter Kern-Scheffeldt from the Pestalozianum Zurich, Switzerland, and Gerald Koller from the 'Vital' Office Steyr, Austria, acted as consultants.
