Consolidating the European adddiction prevention network

The establishment and development of a network is a dynamic process. euro net essentially developed out of the joint work on the practice-oriented euro peers project and the subsequent projects. It has been shown that a certain institutionalisation of the network process is necessary for the joint work.

The European Network for Practical Approaches in Addiction Prevention originally came into being by chance as a result of personal and institutional contacts. A solid basis for euro net was created through the development of guidelines as well as contractual agreements for participating in network activities. The euro net Charter is one of these agreements.

The formation of the network led to the widespread desire for further and more intensive cooperation. This was the reason for planning further projects beyond euro peers within the framework of euro net.

It is not always easy to communicate in networks, particularly in the diverse European context. That is why during the course of developing euro net, the moderation of the network process was almost as important as the joint work on the projects. Building on this experience, a consultation group has been formed that offers experience and instruments such as coaching programmes, moderated meetings and 'train-the-trainers' seminars for other international communication processes in the non-profit sector.
